Grace Baptist Church

David Karn was born and raised in Portland, Oregon.  He is the youngest of  four boys, all raised in a loving Christian home.  He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior during Sunday School in the third grade at Montevilla Baptist Church.

 

He has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Portland, and a Master's Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University.  He currently teaches fourth grade at Lewis and Clark Elementary School in St. Helens.  He also coaches football and basketball at St. Helens Middle School.

 

David came from a very musical family.  His father was a Baptist minister and was always involved in music in the church.  David began playing piano at age 11 and guitar at age 14.  He has been involved in numerous bands through the years, playing guitar, writing songs, and singing.  He has served as Worship Leader/Music Director here at Grace since September 1999.

 

He and his wife Diane have been married for 25 years and have three grown children.  His hobbies include spending time with his family, (Is that a hobby?), traveling to various Disney resorts, guitars, music, and most sports.  David loves to sing and play for his Creator.
