Grace Baptist Church

Judy was born in Portland, Oregon, and has never strayed far from those roots.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Oregon University, (Oregon College of Education), in Monmouth, Oregon.  At 13, she was convinced of her need for the Lord while attending an after school Bible Club.  Once that commitment was made, she never turned back.

 

Upon graduation, St. Helens was Judy's first teaching assignment.  She has taught about 20 years in public school, and another 20 in private school, including 7 years at the kindergarten she started here at Grace.  All of her teaching experience has been in grade K-2.  However, she has worked at church with all the grades up to, and including Junior High.

 

Phil, her husband of  46 years, and Judy, have two grown children who grew up at Grace Baptist.  Their two teenage grandsons have attended here as well but live with their family in Rainier.

 

Since retiring in 2003, Judy has done four long-term sub jobs at McBride.  In addition, she was on the board for Columbia County Christian School and was it's first Director of Education.

 

Judy starts her day by walking 3 1/2 to 4 miles.  In her "spare" time she likes to cheer on her grandsons at their sporting events; soccer, baseball, football, swimming and cross-country and also volunteer for her friends at McBride.   She loves to read and work outside when there's time.
