Hi, my name is Cindy Rotter. I am the Director of Lil' Learners Preschool.I have taught preschool for 26 years and worked as the preschool director for 16 years.Preschool is the JOY of my life. I have my CDA, and I'm at level 8.5 in the Oregon Registry. I was a mentor in early childhood for 8 years with Portland State University, and I have been trained to teach a class in early brain development.I have two sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two fun loving granddaughters. In my spare time I love to go Kayaking and spend time with my two granddaughters.
My name is Nichole Rotter. I am 33 years old. I am married and have 2 daughters ages 11 & 13 Some of my hobbies include scrapbooking, 4-wheeling, fishing and spending time with my husband and our two little mess makers. I've been working in a preschool setting since 2002. It has been such an amazing and enjoyable experience for me. I get the opportunity to meet all of these wonderful children and their families, teach them and watch them blossom, all while playing! I love that we do a lot of hands-on learning, we are always making a mess! I wouldn't have it any other way. I am continuing to work towards my CDA. I am now on step 5 in the Oregon registry. I attend as many trainings as I can to stay current in Early Childhood Education. I am looking forward to this new school year!
Jennifer Griffith, Tot Time facilitator
Jeanette Johnston, Tot Time Facilitator
My name is Jeanette "Jen" Johnston, but some affestionately call me "Teacher Nett". I am 35 years old and have been married to my husband, Joey, for 12 years. Our two elementary age children, Logan and BreAnna, are Lil' Learners alumni and i fell in love with the school and teachers back then. When an opportunity came to sub in the classrooms, including Tot Time, i was thrilled to jump on board and am even more excited to now be a regular classroom aide and a Tot Time facilitatior. helping children learn and getting to be my silly self with them ( and their parents) brings me so much joy!
Growing up, I have always enjoyed children and started babysitting very early on. I also like animals, volunteering, watching marathons of tv series on Netflix, traveling, reading, pinning projects on Pinterest that 99.7% won't ever happen, and golf. I worked as a golf instructor and as a nanny while earning my degrees at Portland State. I coached the girls golf team at St. helens High School for seven years but decided it was time for something... less wet :) I am currently one of the women's ministry leaders at Grace Baptist church and am also the Troop coordinator for American hertage Girls (AHG), a Christian scouting program for girls in Kindergarten thru high school.
Working at the preschool is wonderful because every day is full of fun and a new adventrue!
Shirley Sabo, 3 & 4's AM Teacher
I'm so excited for this year! This will be my third year teaching at Lil' Learners.
I am married and have two children, my son, Jacob is 9 years old and my daughter McKinsey is 6 years old. I was introduced to this wonderful preschool program when we enrolled Jacob into the 4 & 5's class. It truly amazed me watching Jacob learn and trust in God so easily. He was incredibly quiet in class but was a sponge that just soaked it all up. I realized there was no reason for me to fight something that was so easy. I accepted Christ into my heart in the spring of Jacob's preschool year.
It's amazing to be in this environment and have the opportunity to share God's love with other children. It's so rewarding to watch the children learn, build friendships and enjoy coming to school. We all know how quickly they grow and I'm blessed to be a part of this special time in your child's life.
Some things I enjoy outside of the classroom are, spending time with my family, gardening and working on my parents' farm. I continue to attend trainings and work towards my CDA.
